Case of Urethral Obstruction In Male cat:

Jasper 1.5 years Intact male cat

Case Reported:

Presented with Difficulty in passing Urine since last 2 days. Owner reported that pet is visiting litter box frequently and straining to pass urine but couldn't pass urine.

Diagnosis:

On physical Examination Jasper was having severe abdominal pain and discomfort. Abdominal ultrasonography revealed Distended Bladder with echogenic contents. Blood test revealed high kidney values and increased potassium level.

Treatment:

He was immediately stabilized by nextdoorVets team. Jasper underwent Tom catheter fixation procedure under GA.

Observation & Recovery:

After 3 days catheter was removed. With intensive medical care Jasper is doing well and is happy and active again.
